Day 3

Today was amazing! Today we went to look at the different rare books and old medical tools. It was so fascinating what they were telling us about the book. How each page was made. The different anatomy books had actual people who were cut down piece by piece to view the inside body. The pages were so old and I felt like I would break it just by touching it a little. The different medical tools were amazing. The purpose they serve were so scary and gruesome that I could not image being one of the people operated on back in the past. I think it so interesting how we look at it though. When we see these tools we say things like "I'm glad I wasn't born then" but people then didn't know any more. All they knew were that these tools were there and it could save their life. It makes me wonder if in the future people will look back at our generation and think "wow they didn't have that! They must have felt miserable" but yet we don't feel the loss of it because we never really had any feelings toward it. History is just so amazing. Today make me feel even stronger that I need a career in history. Maybe traveling around the world and teaching about history. I now think I'm going to major in international studies and minor in history. Though I'm not guaranteed it will absolutely stay that way. I also love learning about building 500. How it use to be a military place to help military soldiers. It scares me to think about how many people could have died there, but still fascinated me. I really had a lot of much fun today and hope it will be as much fun as this in the days to come.
